DINOSAURS AND OLD FRIENDS

They were after all,

Just dinosaurs and old friends.

Life tends to do that,

Build you up and knock you flat.

I was with them when they relapsed.

I was with them when they collapsed.

What I did I couldn’t say,

Because I was one of them,Back in the day.

But some of us move,

Either into the grave

Or we improve,

Our circumstances.

When we weigh up the chances

And find something’s lacking.

So we look and ask for the backing,

To escape.

To begin to relate,

The story of ends.

And I miss them all,

Those dinosaurs and old friends.
