We were right little buggas

Shortarsed smart mouthed cigarette chuggers.

We would roam around the town

Following Lasses around.

And we were quick with a quip

That could sting like a whip.

But we were just lads

And we weren’t all that bad.

We said sod the schools

We made all our own rules.

But the one thing we feared

Was the Headmaster wi’ Beard,

And the bamboo cane

Which as I recall

I got time and time again.

But it were just a game

And if the chance came

I’d do it just the same.

Alas those days have gone

And only memories linger on.

But oh what days.
