THE PLAN

I once had a plan

But I couldn’t see the trees for the wood

And my plan as a man

Was to get through life just as quick as I could.

I am glad I stopped along the way

And I saw the beauty in a day

Heard the melody in a meadow lark

The laughter of children in the park.

I changed.

I rearranged.

I started again on a different tack

Not into the wind

But with the wind at my back.

“Oh lucky man”
